Alexandroupoli is one of those towns where the sea isn't just a view — it's a way of life. Once known as Dedeagach, today it smells of salt, coffee, and fresh fish. 🌊
My walk began at the fishing harbor — small boats, the sound of waves, and that unmistakable aroma that tells you the catch just came in. 🎣
From there, straight to the town's symbol: the Alexandroupoli Lighthouse. It stands proudly by the sea, as if saying, "Welcome to Greece!" 🇬🇷🗼
The seaside promenade, meanwhile, was made for slow strolls. Little restaurants, cafés, shops, and that unmistakably Greek mood that's hard to put into words — you just have to experience it. ☕🍽️
In the heart of the town, another story awaited me — the Church of St. Nicholas and the revered icon of the Virgin Trifotisa, believed to watch over people with vision problems. 🙏
And as I walked along the shore, I found myself thinking about how many different stories a single town can hold — from fishing boats to the light of the lighthouse, from ancient traditions to everyday Greek life today. 🙆♂️
