Thessaloniki 🇬🇷 Greece 👇
Today I'm soaking up the atmosphere of one of Greece's liveliest cities — Thessaloniki. 🇬🇷
The walk begins at the White Tower, the symbol of the city, rising right by the sea. From there I continue on to Navarino Square, where history comes alive among the remains of the Palace and the Arch of Galerius. 🏛️
Next comes one of the most powerful places in Thessaloniki — the Church of St. Demetrios. A temple steeped in history, home to the relics of the city's patron saint. ⛪❤️
Of course, I couldn't skip the house of Atatürk. 🇹🇷🏠 I went there with great curiosity… only to discover it was Monday and it was closed. 🤦♂️🤣 A little tip from me: check the opening days before you go, so you don't repeat my little feat.
But Thessaloniki isn't just about history.
It's the scent of fresh coffee by the sea ☕, the sound of the waves 🌊, the little taverns 🍽️, and streets you simply want to wander without any direction.
And as I take the last sip of my Greek coffee, I think to myself: some cities you visit for just one day… but the feeling they leave behind lingers far longer.
Until next time, Thessaloniki! 🇬🇷 I hope this time we won't meet again only after 18 years! 🫣🤣
