The monastery is tucked away amid nature (in the Balkan Mountains, not far from Gabrovo), and the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a silence so profound it almost felt unreal. Cozy, peaceful, unhurried — as if someone had hit pause.
I strolled slowly through the courtyard, taking in the beautiful church and the old buildings around it. What caught my attention most was the stone fountain in the middle, with pure mountain water flowing from it nonstop — and that sound is the best soundtrack you could ask for. A tip from me: bring a bottle, the water is incredibly tasty. 💧
Everything around is green — tall trees, fresh air, and that feeling of being close to nature without having to climb a mountain peak. The walk was a real pleasure.
