Wandering through the streets, I noticed how many old houses still hold onto the spirit of the past — the kind that make you slow your pace and just stare at the facades. One of them, though, left the strongest impression on me: it was built without a single nail. 😯 Now that's craftsmanship — the old Bulgarian builders clearly didn't need any ironmongery to make a house last for centuries.
And that's no coincidence, of course. Dryanovo is the birthplace of the renowned Bulgarian master builder Kolyu Ficheto, born here in 1800. 👤 It somehow makes sense that it's in his hometown you'd stumble upon such architectural ingenuity.
It's a small town, but it impressed me both with its history and its cozy atmosphere. If you happen to pass through, take the time to walk around on foot — the best of it reveals itself slowly. My visit will stay with me as a lovely memory. 🌿
