Three hours on foot, one seasoned guide, and an entire biblical city waiting to be discovered — that's how I experienced the magic of Nazareth. 🙆♂️ I set out feeling like I already knew the story from books, and came back feeling like I'd walked through it with my own two feet. 📜
The adventure began at the iconic Basilica of the Annunciation — the place where the angel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and foretold the birth of Jesus. 🙏 Standing there, listening to the guide, you find yourself growing quiet without even trying.
From there we continued on to the Church of Saint Joseph, believed to have been built over the home of the Holy Family. ⛪ Then came the Synagogue Church, where tradition holds that Jesus once prayed and preached.
And to finish things off, we dove into a completely different atmosphere: the old city market, with its narrow alleys, buzzing crowds, scents, and colors. 🚶♂️ The perfect contrast after so much silence and prayer — Nazareth knows how to do both.
My advice: wear comfortable shoes and leave yourself plenty of time for the market. Leaving is easy to plan, but once you're in there, it's easy to lose yourself — in the best possible way. 😄
