Lewes is the county town of East Sussex, sitting about an hour by train from London β which makes it one of my top picks for a day trip from the capital. π
The little town is home to narrow cobbled streets, a rich history, and some great shops. π The houses here are pretty striking too β the kind you just have to stop and admire. π And from the surrounding hills, the views over the town and countryside are simply gorgeous. πββοΈ
There's also a Norman castle, but I'll tell you more about that later. π° Lewes definitely has plenty to offer, and it's well worth a visit. π
