In Ferrara I found something you rarely come across in Italy — real calm and quiet. 🙆♂️ No pushing crowds, no phones held up in the air, just a slow, easy stroll through town.
I started my tour at the cathedral — just imagine, it's nearly 900 years old! ⛪ Its façade blends Renaissance and Romanesque style, and it can easily keep you standing there longer than you'd planned. 👈
After that I headed to the Este Castle. 👁️🗨️ For centuries, decisions affecting the city's residents were made right here — standing in front of it, you can almost feel the weight of all those signatures. 📝
And since no stroll through an Italian town is complete without gelato 🍦... or a beer 🍺😉, my agenda was pretty much set. Ferrara is packed with sights and absolutely deserves a spot on your itinerary. 👌
