🌋 Mount Vesuvius 🇮🇹 ITALY 👇
Today I'm standing before Vesuvius – one of the most famous volcanoes in the world, towering over the Bay of Naples. 🇮🇹
The climb starts off gently enough, but with every step upward the feeling changes. The path winds along the slopes, and behind me the whole bay slowly unfolds – sea, city, and a bit of breathlessness. 🌊🏙️
And then I reach the edge of the crater… 😮
It's the kind of view that simply doesn't fit into a photo. The massive crater reminds you that this isn't just another mountain, but a living volcano. The ground beneath your feet seems to tell a story of fire, ash, and incredible power. 🙆♂️
And somewhere down there lies Pompeii – the city Vesuvius buried under ash in 79 AD, and which today lets us peek back in time. 🏛️
I stand there, staring into the crater, thinking how strange it is that a person would voluntarily climb up to a place that once wiped whole cities off the map. 🤷♂️
But it's exactly for moments like this that I travel. Not just to see another dot on the map, but to actually feel it. ❤️🌍
And if anyone asks why I keep climbing… well, apparently ordinary views just don't cut it for me anymore. 🤣🌋
