A bit sleepy but full of enthusiasm, I set off for the meeting point. 🚍 The group gathered quickly – smiling faces, backpacks, thermoses of coffee, and chatter about the day ahead. 🫡
After about two hours on the road, we reached the small, quiet village of Bilka. Our hike began right at the town hall. 🥾
After a bit of climbing, we reached our first goal – Kodzha Kaya peak, also known as the Big Rock. The view from the top made me stop and just stay silent. The landscape stretched out in every direction – green hills, tiny villages, and in the distance, the glimmering Tsonevo reservoir. 😯
After a short rest, we continued toward the foot of Orta Kaya, where we stopped for lunch. We sat on the grass to eat while the sun warmed us pleasantly. ☀️ Moments like these always remind me how little you actually need to feel good. 🤌
The climb up Orta Kaya was a bit more challenging. The trail grew rockier, and in places I had to watch my step carefully, but that's exactly what made the experience feel more genuine. A small tip: good-grip shoes here aren't a luxury, they're a necessity. When we reached the top, the effort was absolutely worth it – the panorama was even more breathtaking, and the sense of accomplishment even stronger. 🚶♂️🫶
This day was more than just a hike. It was a reminder of how important it is to step out of routine, breathe deeply, and allow yourself these small escapes. The mountain gave me exactly what I needed once again – peace, beauty, and a bit of freedom. 🙆♂️🤗
