Romania's capital!π My trip to Bucharest started early in the morning with departure from Burgas. The meeting point was set for the ungodly hour of 5:00 AM, and despite that, we were all excited and eager for the adventure ahead.πββοΈ
Our route took us through Shumen and Ruse, and then we crossed the Danube Bridge at the Bulgarian-Romanian border.π By around noon we had already arrived in Bucharest β the largest city in Southeastern Europe. From the very first minutes, the city impressed me with its architecture, wide boulevards, and lively streets. I learned that it was founded in 1459 on both banks of the DΓ’mboviΘa River, and it's often called "Little Paris" for its artistic spirit and beautiful buildings.π
During the panoramic tour we saw many of the city's famous landmarks. We passed by Union Square, the University, and the National Theatre, followed by Victory Square, Revolution Square, and the Royal Palace. What impressed me most was the Romanian Athenaeum β one of the city's true icons. The building is absolutely stunning and majestic.
But the highlight of the walk was the Parliament Palace. It turns out this is the second-largest administrative building in the world, right after the Pentagon.π― Its sheer size and impressive architecture left me speechless.π€·ββοΈ It was fascinating to learn that it was built by thousands of workers across an enormous area.
After the tour, we had some free time in the center of Bucharest. I strolled along the beautiful streets, browsed the shops, and soaked in the pleasant atmosphere. This trip left me with wonderful memories, and I would definitely visit Bucharest again.π«‘
