Brighton is the seaside capital of England ๐๏ธโต and just an hour by train from Victoria Station in London. ๐ It's a famous seaside resort with a long beach โ though don't expect sand, as it's covered in fine pebbles instead. ๐คทโโ๏ธ A tip from me: keep your shoes on until you actually reach the water.
The town itself is colourful and packed with interesting spots. The Royal Pavilion, for instance, was once home to three British monarchs. ๐ฎ The seafront is also lovely for a stroll ๐ถโโ๏ธ - the old docks have been transformed into shops and cafรฉs, and there's even a fishing museum. Another standout attraction is Brighton Palace Pier - a genuine amusement park perched on a pier out over the sea. ๐
What I loved most, though, was a different landmark - the Brighton i360. It's an enclosed 360-degree viewing platform, basically a flying saucer, that rises 138 metres into the air and offers breathtaking views over the city in every direction. ๐ฏ๐โโ๏ธ Tickets cost ยฃ20.50, and the whole experience lasts about 20 minutes. ๐ค
From there I headed to the heart of the old town - The Lanes. It's a real maze of narrow streets lined with tiny shops, tucked into 16th-century houses. ๐ฎ
If you're looking to spend a day by the sea, Brighton is a fantastic choice. ๐๐โต
