Warwick Castle is a medieval fortress in the county of Warwickshire, perched above the River Avon. 🌤️ It's rectangular in shape, measuring 75 by 105 metres, with walls rising 15 metres high and eight towers reaching 45 metres — and it's not by chance that it's called the most exquisite medieval castle in the country. Sir Walter Scott went even further, describing it as the most majestic place in England. 🙆♂️
And here's the loveliest paradox of all: it was originally built to keep visitors OUT, yet today it's more visited than any other privately owned home in England, and ranks as the second most visited castle after Windsor. 😮
Inside lies one of Europe's most significant collections of armour and weaponry, while the walls are adorned with paintings by masters such as Rubens and Van Dyck. 🖼️
