Our group met up at the Zapad bus station in Burgas and set off for the village of Hristo Danovo – the starting point of our mountain adventure. 🚌 Spirits were high, and our backpacks were packed with anticipation.😁

After lunch and some final preparations, we hit the mountain trail. A serious trek awaited us – around five hours of walking and nearly 900 meters of elevation gain. 🥾 Our legs felt every one of those meters, but eventually Hut Echo came into view, along with a well-deserved rest.🤝 We settled into the dorm rooms, freshened up, and spent the evening in pleasant conversation. We all knew something special was waiting for us the next morning.

The alarm went off at 4:00. It was still dark outside. Armed with headlamps, we set off for Yumruka Peak. The climb takes about half an hour, but time seems to move differently in the dark.🤷‍♂️

When we reached the summit, we stood in silence, staring at the sunrise. 🌄 It was my first time greeting July morning on a high Bulgarian peak, and right there, on Yumruka, I finally understood why people get up before dawn and walk for miles in the darkness.😉🚶‍♂️👌
