The Temple of Heaven, or Tiantan, was built in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty. 🎎 This is the very spot where Chinese emperors once prayed for a good harvest and for the wellbeing of their people. 🙏
During my visit, though, I noticed something quite different: many couples choose the temple as the backdrop for their wedding photos. 📸 And it makes perfect sense — this way, they too are expressing their hopes for happiness 🌞, prosperity 🍀 and lasting love. ❤️ 👰🤵♀️
So this one place brings together the prayers of emperors and newlyweds alike. I'll admit, I found myself watching the brides more than the rooftops. 😄
