A place that left me breathless with its incredible views. 👀 The cliffs near Provadia hide this monastery so well that you first hear the silence, and only then see the panorama — and once you do, you won't want to leave.
Where exactly its name comes from isn't entirely clear. 🤷♂️ It seems the Turks who settled in these lands thought the people living in this once-inaccessible rocky spot were a bit crazy — and the name "Shashkinite" ("the crazy ones") stuck ever since. 💁♂️ If you ask me, you do have to be a little crazy to build a home so high up... and a little brilliant, given the view. 😄
