The church is like a little jewel — the paints are made from natural materials, and the murals are the work of Zahari Zograf himself. 🎨 It's here that you'll find one of the most powerful frescoes in Bulgaria — the Wheel of Life. Standing in front of it, you somehow understand that someone, a century and a half ago, managed to say everything there is to say about life without uttering a single word. 🙆♂️
The Transfiguration Monastery is the fourth largest monastery in Bulgaria — after the Rila, Bachkovo, and Troyan monasteries. 🙏 It's a beautiful, deeply moving place, the kind where you instinctively lower your voice.
If you ever find yourself near Veliko Tarnovo, make sure to set aside some time for this sacred place. I'd go back just to see the Wheel again. ✝️
