Modena is the city of Luciano Pavarotti — this is where the great Italian opera singer was born. 🗣️ But perhaps few people know that this is also where the world-famous Bulgarian opera singer Nicolai Ghiaurov passed away and was laid to rest. 🎼 There's something quite fitting about this particular city bringing together two such voices.
Modena has charming streets, historic buildings, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere — the kind of city where you can wander without a plan and still feel like everything's exactly as it should be. It's also the birthplace of balsamic vinegar, so it has plenty to boast about on the culinary front too.
Even though my visit was brief, I managed to soak up the spirit of this beautiful city, wander through its historic center, and, of course, enjoy a good cup of coffee. ☕ My advice: don't rush — leave at least an hour just to sit in the square and take it all in.
It was a wonderful way to wrap up yet another trip through Italy. 🙆♂️
