Very early in the morning, while the desert is still asleep, we set off toward our first big goal of the day – Deadvlei. 🌅 The road is quiet, the sky slowly brightens, and no one in the car suspects what awaits them.

And then, right in front of us, a landscape appears that looks like it belongs to another planet. 🤯 A blinding white clay pan, surrounded by giant fiery-red dunes, an intensely blue sky, and dozens of blackened trunks of dead acacia trees.

Centuries ago, there was water and life here. Today the water is gone, but the trees still stand – some of them for more than 900 years now. The extremely dry climate has slowed their decay and turned this place into one of the most recognizable landscapes in Namib. 🌳🏜️ And here we are, right in the middle of this incredible natural scene.

But the adventure is only just beginning! 💁‍♂️ Our next encounter is with another icon of the desert – Dune 45.

About 170 meters of sand ahead of us, and a narrow ridge where we begin our climb. Every step is heavy, the sand slips beneath your feet and pulls you half a step back, but the view from the top is worth every bit of effort. Before our eyes unfolds an endless sea of red dunes, stretching as far as the eye can see. 🏜️

And today we understand why some places simply can't be captured in a photo… you just have to stand there and see them with your own eyes. 👀
