🇧🇬 Today my journey takes me to Mezek. 🚗

At the foot of the Malŭtepe mound lies the Mezek Thracian Tomb — one of the most impressive monuments of Thracian heritage in Bulgaria, dating back to the 4th century BC. 📜

The moment I step into the dromos, I feel the atmosphere shift. The stone corridor draws me inward, the daylight gradually fading behind me, until the antechambers and the round burial chamber open up ahead. Above it rises the striking beehive-shaped dome.

I stand there in the silence, imagining how, more than two thousand years ago, rituals tied to life and death once unfolded in this very spot. It was once a place of eternal rest. Today, it's a place to meet the past face to face.

The gold, bronze, iron, glass, and ceramic artifacts unearthed here give us a rare glimpse into the world of the Thracian elite.

And I leave with one feeling above all: the more you travel, the more you realize how little you actually know about the world around you.

And that's exactly what keeps me going. Setting off. Discovering. Traveling back in time. 🙆‍♂️
