Sometimes you set off for a place with a fixed idea in your head… and it ends up serving you far more stories than you ever expected. 👣📸 That's exactly what happened to me in Haskovo. 🙆♂️
My walk began at the Clock Tower, continued past the "1000 Years of Haskovo" monument, the Monument to the Bulgarian Icarus, the Sundial, and the monument to Dimitar Ivanov – Litse. A city that hands you something new at every turn.
And then Haskovo simply raised the bar. ⬆️ Before me rose the 30-meter bell tower, and beside it – the magnificent monument of the Holy Virgin with the Christ Child. 🙏 And here's the moment to tell you that the statue of the Virgin Mary with the Child isn't just impressive – it's a world record holder, listed in the Guinness Book of Records. 🌍
A tip from me: save the bell tower for last and climb it – the view over the city from above is the perfect way to end the walk.
History, culture, records, and a bit of urban adventure – all in a single day. Haskovo – one more stop, one more story, one more place well worth discovering. ❤️🇧🇬
