A vibrant city of history, art and culture! 🎨 I set off on a journey to Ghent – Belgium's hidden gem. 👌 The first thing that struck me: it's noticeably less crowded than Bruges, yet just as charming. 🤗
I started my walk at Gravensteen – an incredibly well-preserved castle sitting calmly right in the heart of the city. 🏰 I climbed to the top and was rewarded with a stunning view over all of Ghent. Every single step is worth it! 🙆♂️
From there I continued along Graslei and Korenlei – the picturesque banks of the Leie River, where every building looks like it's straight off a postcard. 🚶♂️ You can happily wander around aimlessly, the view is great in every direction.
But the real pleasure is getting lost among the narrow streets and charming brick buildings, many of which now house some of the best restaurants and bars in Ghent. 😉 My advice: don't rush back to your hotel — sit down with a Belgian beer and let the city work its magic. 🍻
