Canterbury is one of those English towns where history isn't behind glass β it's literally under your feet.π The city is best known for its magnificent cathedral, and that's exactly where my visit began.βͺπ The stained glass windows and Gothic architecture are truly breathtaking β the kind of place where you instinctively start speaking in hushed tones.π
After that, I wandered through the charming medieval streets and popped into the Roman museum, built around the remains of an original Roman townhouse.ποΈ I learned quite a lot about the city's rich Roman history β I'll admit, I didn't expect that to be the highlight for me.πΊ
But...! No visit to Canterbury would be complete without a traditional English tea or a hearty meal at one of the many historic eateries.π€π΅ A tip from me: save some time for this part β it works best after a few hours of wandering the cobblestones.
