This time the weather decided to show off its proper English character - cold, rain, and wind. 🤣 But as they say, if you're already wet, you're not afraid of the rain. 🤭
In the photos you can see the gardens and ruins of the Benedictine abbey. ⛪ It was once one of the largest and wealthiest in England 😮 - standing here from its founding in 1020 until its dissolution in 1539.
I was really impressed by how well-preserved the 14th-century Great Norman Tower is. 😯 And from the gardens you get a beautiful view of the new cathedral ⛪ - inside, I was completely taken by the stunning wood-carved chairs and the organ. 👌
Bury St Edmunds is the perfect spot to escape to with family and friends for a lovely stroll... 🚶♀️🚶♂️ Just toss a jacket in the boot, just in case. 🌧️
