We landed, our pre-arranged transfer picked us up, and off we went straight to the hotel. ๐ŸšŒ The next morning โ€“ well-rested, fed, and ready to explore the capital. ๐Ÿšถ

A bit of history before we set off: the city was founded in 1886 by Emperor Menelik II and his wife, who had a church built here as early as 1879. โ›ช

We had a whole day to see the most fascinating sights. We wandered through the traditional local markets, then visited the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to the famous plaster cast of "Lucy" โ€“ a 3.5-million-year-old hominid. From there, we headed up Mount Entoto for the most stunning panoramic view over the city. ๐Ÿ“ธ

And finally, without a doubt the most magnificent cathedral in the country โ€“ Holy Trinity, which serves as the burial site for members of the imperial family and celebrated Ethiopian patriots. Inside โ€“ striking wood carvings, mosaics, and other works of art. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ

In just one day, we managed to get a real feel for Ethiopia's vibrant culture and rich history. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

And now, I'm happy to reveal our next destination! ๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿค› Tonight we're gathering for dinner, where we'll go over the plan for our upcoming climb up Ras Dashen. โ›ฐ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‰

See you soon! ๐Ÿ‘‹
