Today we're heading out to explore this enchanting little town.π Stone Town is the capital of Zanzibar, and it's definitely the place for a head-on collision with local life and culture.π― The streets are narrow, bustling and full of life, and the sheer abundance of souvenirs is enough to set your hands shopping on autopilot.π Here we also had the chance to visit the birthplace and house museum of Freddie Mercury β for a music fan, this felt like a little pilgrimage.π€
From there we hopped on a boat to Prison Island β a small island not far out in the ocean, once used for the slave trade. These days it's home to giant land tortoises.π’ We went right in among them, petted them, and snapped some photos to remember the moment.π· Tip: move slowly and calmly around them β they're in no rush to go anywhere, and they'll happily let you give them a pat.
After returning from Prison Island, we wandered a bit more through the streets of Stone Town to soak in one last memory. And now comes the worst part β we're heading back to Sofia.πββοΈπ‘
